So let's read a book together; let's start with a great little book that's simple and straightforward: A.W. Tozer's The Pursuit of God. We'll start on the first Monday of February, which will give you enough time to find or buy a copy, then we'll read one chapter a week. There are 10 chapters - but don't worry, they're very short.
After you read your chapter come and visit 'Culver's Swamp' and share what you enjoyed in the chapter, and more importantly, how you will respond to each chapter.
In the preface Tozer writes: "In this hour of all-but-universal darkness one cheering gleam appears: Within the fold of conservative Christianity there are to be found increasing numbers of persons whose religious lives are marked by a growing hunger after God Himself... This is the only real harbinger of revival which I have been able to detect anywhere on the religious horizon. It may be the cloud the size of a man's hand for which a few saints here and there have been looking. It can result in a resurrection of life for many souls and a recapture of that radiant wonder which should accompany faith in Christ, that wonder which has all but fled the Church of God in our day."
Tozer writes this simple and straightforward book to help God's hungry children find Him - he looks to kindle a fire in your soul.
So I challenge you to join me in a ten week reading project beginning on February 3.
Maybe you already have this book in your library, great, dust it off and get ready to read. If not you can get a copy for less than $10 from Amazon (just copy this link <http://www.amazon.ca/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=pursuit%20of%20god>).
Or if you want to save your pennies you can read the whole book online for free - here's the address for that one <http://www.gutenberg.org/files/25141/25141-h/25141-h.htm>.
Let's grow together!
